About

My name is Leah and I am teacher candidate in the Elementary Post Degree Professional Program at the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC. Being at university during a global pandemic is tough, being in a condensed, full time, professional post degree program is even tougher. As with most things in life, there are good days and bad days. Hopefully as this term gets going I will find my grove and there will be more good days than bad.

The learning curve to create and maintain a blog will be steep, but I am looking forward to the challenge. I love the idea of being able to share my weekly learning journey as I go instead of having to wait for one culminating presentation day where there is never enough time to demonstrate your learning, or really check out my colleagues amazing work. This entire course is a new area of learning for me, and I am definitely feeling some anxiety around that, but I know I am not alone in that feeling and that my cohort and profs are there for support when I need it.

My happy place is on the water. I try and spend as much of my time on the water as possible. I am so blessed to live on Vancouver Island and be surrounded by the ocean. I have 2 amazing daughters, and am a fierce animal advocate. As a foster family for the Victoria Humane Society you never know how many animals might be in our house at a time on top of our 2 resident dogs (Mabel & Gus) and our 2 resident cats (Juno & Mazzy).

I am ready to start this tech adventure! Let’s see where we go!
